Despite the storm that dumped another 9 inches on the Twin Cities, spring is coming. I could feel it in the air today. There is hope. Spring always feels like a rebirth, a sense of renewed vigor and energy, a sense that change is in the air. A feeling that advances that seemed unfathomable during the cold dark winter nights are possible. The time is coming to not only plant a literal garden but to plant a garden of change in our lives. Spring, like the birth of a child, brings unbridled hope.
With that in mind, there is no better way to rejuvenate your belief in Rotary and ability to make the world a better place than to attend the Imagine Tri-District Conference at Madden's Resort on April 29th. We really have worked to make this feasible for everyone. If you live too far away to attend in person or physically can't make the trip, then zoom in. If you have a hectic schedule and you can only spare one day, then come for the day. Drive up in the morning and home when it's over. Do you want to get away for a mini vacation before the crowds? Then come for the weekend. Many of us are arriving on Friday and leaving on Sunday. Grab a group and go out to dinner on Friday. Attend the early morning pre-conference events - Braver Angels, National Eagle Center eagle demonstration. Have some close up time with our speakers on Sunday morning over breakfast before heading home. And finally, Madden's is lovely and there are plenty of activities for children and spouses. Work on the pollinator mansion, visit with the eagle, browse the house of friendship, play golf, shuffleboard, bocce, etc. Truly there really is no reason not to attend. Click on the registration button below and join the fun.

Rick Heidick, LIFT Team Leader, was in Nicaragua in early March, and a crucial part of his trip was to attend an El Corozo community celebration of having the water system. Although the project had delays and was not completed in December (which was anticipated), the pumping, chlorination, and tank filling are all finished now. The water distribution system is also done, with water piped to the resident's homes.
Please check out this video from the day of the celebration (3/4/23):
