The Ethics Committee of Rotary District 5960 invites you to a Braver Angels workshop on Zoom, entitled “Skills for Bridging the Divide” scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 14, 2021.
We have made special arrangements for Rotarians from District 5960 for this workshop as a follow-up to the “With Malice Toward None” sessions held in November and December. Members are encouraged to bring your friends and family members as well, especially if they are of the other political persuasion.
You may register for the event at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/skills-for-bridging-the-divide-hybrid-workshop-mn-rotary-district-5960-registration-133278711213
There's a lot of stress these days among family members and friends who are divided politically, and the current polarized public conversation doesn't help. Please join us for this Braver Angels “Skills for Bridging the Divide” Workshop and learn skills for having respectful conversations that clarify differences, search for common ground, and affirm the importance of the relationship.
This free workshop does the following:
- Provides knowledge about what it takes to have constructive, non-polarizing conversations between people who disagree politically
- Gives you the chance to practice these skills to have these conversations
- Motivates you to have these conversations with people in your social network
The workshop will be conducted by trained Braver Angels moderators.
We hope you can join us in helping depolarize America. Please register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/skills-for-bridging-the-divide-hybrid-workshop-mn-rotary-district-5960-registration-133278711213 Once registered, you will be sent the Zoom link with further instructions.
Note: The workshop includes two-person breakout groups for practice. The registration site has you self-identify as a "lean slightly red", "lean slightly blue" or "other' for the practice exercise. Which you select will not be revealed to participants other than the person with whom you are matched up with of similar "color". Past participants of this workshop have found this allows them to relax and be comfortable participating in the practice sessions.
Note also: This workshop includes a 40 minute online eLearning Course that you should watch prior to the workshop if you wish to really gain value from participating.
