PRESS RELEASE

RE:         DISC GOLF COURSE, RIEGEL PARK, SAINT CROIX FALLS

TIME:     5:30 TO 7:30 PM, Wednesday August 29, 2018

The Riegel Park Nine hole Disc Golf course will be dedicated between 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM on Wednesday August 29. Sponsored by the Saint Croix Falls/Taylors Falls Rotary Club, and built with the hard work of numerous volunteers, the 9-fairway course is just east of Jerusalem Pond along the interlink Bike path.

Four fairways in the woods lead to, a rustic bridge, then to fairway #5 in the prairie. These four have considerable terrain features. Fairways #6 and #7 are again in the woods. They lead to #8 and #9, which are long fairways in the prairie. #9 returns to the paved Trail which completes the one-mile hike to play the course.

Repurposed materials have been generously used for the project. The grandstand at the fairgrounds was a significant source.

Riegel Park is a City park which includes the Interlink Bike Path to the Gandy Dancer State Trail, as well as the Woolly Mountain Bike Trail and the Ice Age Trail. This disc golf course becomes the fourth recreational opportunity on the property.

The public is welcome to join the Rotary Club as the opening of this community service project is celebrated.  Please bring your discs (aka Frisbee) to play the course after the ribbon cutting at 5:45 PM on Wednesday August 29. Meet at the north end of Jerusalem Pond on Blanding Woods Road.
